Kaapachino – another great ride.

Kaapachino gave me another great ride last weekend at Aston le Walls. My delight with the way he cruised around the tight show-jumping combinations caught me smiling on the last jump.

Talking Point was 2nd dressage, with another one of his superb trademark show-jumping rounds, marred by an unexpected mobile photographers bag..!!!

Cleveland’s dressage and clear show-jumping had him set for another win before I made the decision to withdraw all the team from the cross-country. The forecast rain was late to arrive, the ground hard, and the track had no questions to advance their knowledge.

Apart Hoefzlag Z was pleased to be out and about. He did a good test and impressed with his show-jumping, he enjoyed using his natural jumping ability to clear the tight combinations.

My first official Badminton Blog post

Really excited to share with you my first official 2015 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials post. This post is an interview with me and covers a number of topics about my Badminton preparation with my wonderful NZ thoroughbred Kaapachino.

Delighted and excited to be accepted into Badminton

I have been accepted on my great NZ thoroughbred Kaapachino. We have come such a long way together, an epic journey. When I was 21 we moved to the other side of the world together to set out on this journey to Badminton, and have shared tough times, as well as the most incredible good times.

I can’t wait to do our first four Star as a partnership. I couldn’t think of another horse I’d prefer to do it on…the countdown has really begun now.

“ You can take the NZ thoroughbred out of NZ, but you can’t take NZ out of the horse.” #‎cmonkaapy‬!

Everything’s on track for Badminton

As we begin the final phase of our 4Star, Badminton debut, it’s great to have Kaapachino feeling very fresh and well.  This weekend it will be good for him to have his first run of the season to bring him into competition mode. We are both ready for our 2015 season to get underway. My own fitness and preparation for Badminton is right on track. Throughout the winter it’s been huge asset to be working out at Oaksey House  (the Injured Jockey Centre at Lambourn).

This week, the rest of the team: Amsterdam, Cleveland, Talking Point, Apart VD Hoefslag Z and Elmo,  also begin their 2015 season. They are all feeling fresh and fit, and keen to get underway.

Rebuilding the website

We apologise for not being able to update the website in the past couple of months. We’re in the process of rebuilding it so that we can serve you better content and all the action during my events. We’re very excited about the changes that’s going to come!

A very sad day

It’s been a very tough day. Benjamin Winters—a very talented rider—died due to a fatal rotational accident. Ben was a great guy who was always so positive. My deepest condolences and respect to his family.

A Win at Nunny International

The stunning Cleveland has his first decisive win, completing the competition on his dressage score. I predict this to be the first of many wins for Cleveland, he is an impressive, talented, tough horse.
